Our culinary journey takes us from the cuisines of Istria and Northern Italy to those of Bohemia and Moravia, the wide plains of Hungary and of cours to Vienna the heart of the Danube Monarchy.
A true original? It is said that the world-famous Wiener Schnitzel (Viennese Schnitzel) was originally just a copy of the Ialian “Costoletta alle Milanese”. Be that as it may, today the Schnitzel is no doubt as Austrian as can be.
Knedli or dumplings, meat and pastries – on our tour we explore typical specialities of the former monarchy’s various regional cuisines and dive into a world of nuanced flavours that may be long gone historically, but is all the more vibrant culinarily.
